  • BETH ALFORD-SULLIVAN
    HEAD COACH

    Vice Chancellor and Director Athletics Dave Hart officially introduced Beth Alford-Sullivan as the University of Tennessee's Director of Track & Field and Cross Country on July 1, 2014. Sullivan recently completed her 15th season at Penn State, including the last eight as the director and head coach of a combined men's and women's program. Sullivan originally joined Penn State in the fall of 1999 as the head coach of the women's track and field program.

  • ZACH GLAVASH
    ASSISTANT COACH - SPRINTS

    Zach Glavash is in his second year at Tennessee as a sprints coach. Glavash spent the two previous seasons at Eastern Michigan as an assistant coach for sprints, hurdles, relays and jumps. He previously worked at Texas A&M and Texas Tech.

    During his time at Eastern Michigan, Glavash produced four Mid-American Conference champions and developed the school's first All-American since 2006. Asia Rawls earned All-America honors in the 400 hurdles in 2012 and was the MAC gold medalist in the race in 2012. He also coached freshman Vanessa Clerveaux to the No. 4 junior world ranking in the 100-meter hurdles.

  • TIM HALL
    ASSISTANT COACH - SPRINTS

    Veteran sprints coach Tim Hall is starting his first season at Tennessee and will be working with the men's and women's squads.

    Hall comes to Rocky Top having spent last season as sprints coach at Kentucky as the Wildcats put together a banner performance in the women's competition. He held a similar position the five previous years at Clemson and also spent 12 seasons coaching at Charlotte.

  • JOHN NEWELL
    ASSISTANT COACH - THROWS

    John Newell is completing his first season at Tennessee as the assistant coach of throwing events. Newell had served the last six seasons as an assistant coach for the track and field program at Michigan State. As an athlete, he was an All-American thrower at Georgia from 2002-05.

    In his time with the Spartans, Newell had 24 NCAA championship qualifiers, 18 All-America honors and 46 regional event qualifiers. His athletes won nine Big Ten championships and recorded eight school records.

  • RODNEY STOKER
    ASSITANT COACH - DISTANCE

    Stoker is in his second year at Tennessee. He assisted with the men's and women's distance runners in track and cross country in addition to recruiting responsibilities.

    The men's cross country team showed marked success in Stoker's two years with the program. Peter Okwera earned All-America honors in 2012 and was All-SEC and All-South Region in both 2012 and 2013. Both Daniel Tobin and Austin Whitelaw had the best seasons of their career, earning All-South Region honors.

  • BERRY SHUMPERT
    ASSISTANT COACH - JUMPS / MULTI-EVENTS

    Berry Shumpert, who was a volunteer assistant coach at Tennessee from 2001-2004, has returned to Knoxville after having spent the last two years as the jumps and multi-event coach at Southern California and Purdue.

    "It is exciting to complete our staff with our hire of Berry Shumpert," Tennessee director of track and field Beth Alford-Sullivan said. "His proven record of success in jumps and multi-events are attractive for what we want to do here at Tennessee and in cracking the code of the SEC and NCAA championships.
