Completed in April of 2008, the Allan Jones Aquatic Center is the new home of Tennessee swimming and diving. Highlighted by an eight-lane, 50-meter-by-25-yard competition pool with a depth of eight feet from end to end, the $24.3 million facility will boast one of the fastest collegiate pools in the country. A separate competition diving well features five platforms varying in height from one to 10 meters, two one-meter and two three-meter springboards on the main competition end of the well. In addition, five three-meter and five one-meter auxiliary springboards will surround the diving pool. The AJIAC also features a state of the art scoreboard along with an elevated timing booth and press box. Named in honor of Allan Jones, who made a $4 million gift as a part of UT's STEP UP Campital Campaign, the aquatic center hosted USA Diving's 2008 Olympic Team Selection prior to the Beijing Games.
